The exterior is finished! We even have our house number and the satin nickel kickplate on the door. Our neighbors have their fence, so ours can't be far off. Hurray!

The finishing touch from our builder - a little plaque screwed into the toe kick below our front door. Why they used rusted screws, I'll never know...

A close-up of our house number. Let the stalking begin!

The dishwasher, which is actually stainless steel under that white protective wrapper. Jason and I both did a double-take when we saw it.

The wide-by-side fridge. It's massive!

Our microwave and the Gemini double-oven range that I begged for.

Look how the countertops sparkle... I'm entranced...

Jason contemplates taken a shower fully clothed. Ever modest, that one.

The completed powder room, with carpet, mirror and light fixture. Come one, come all - poop in our house!

The stairs are carpeted. Tra la la.

Another shot of our kitchen. We walked through the house behind ours, after learning the couple buying it had unfortunately had to back out of the deal when their previous house didn't sell. They had black appliances, grey Corian countertops, and raised-panel cabinets with an ash-grey glaze. We think this is better.

The inside of the aforementioned massive fridge. Mmmm... refrigeration.

The glass cooktop of our double oven. The two front burners are adjustable in size - with the flip of a switch, you can go from using the inner burner ring to the outer one. And that area in the middle of the back is the warming center.

Jason inspects the filter on our whole-house humidifier.

The east side of our empty basement....

...and the west side.

Our air conditioner. Which, we discovered, isn't terribly energy efficient. Which is fine - we don't plan to use it a ton. Hooray for ceiling fans in every room!

The egress window in the basement, so we're not breaking the law when we turn the basement into finished living space.
